Salary: $80,000–$90,000+ depending on experience
About the Opportunity
Bluebird Staffing is hiring on behalf of a client for a Plumbing Designer to join their MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering team in Indianapolis.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Plumbing Designer or an entry-level candidate looking to build a career in MEP engineering. No college degree is required.
What You'll Do
- Design domestic hot and cold water systems
- Design sanitary waste and vent systems
- Design storm drainage and natural gas systems
- Work with specialty plumbing systems as needed
- Perform plumbing calculations, including pipe sizing, fixture units, water pressure/flow, pumps, hot-water demand, and gas sizing
- Develop plumbing floor plans, restroom plans, riser diagrams, isometric drawings, equipment connection details, schedules, and construction details
- Apply applicable plumbing and building codes and accessibility requirements
- Coordinate plumbing designs with HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural plans
- Identify and resolve design conflicts and clashes
- Coordinate pipe elevations, ceiling-space requirements, penetrations, and equipment locations with other disciplines
Qualifications
- 2+ years of plumbing design experience preferred
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
- No college degree required
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, construction documents, and applicable codes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability and willingness to learn and grow within the role
Compensation & Bonus
- $80,000–$90,000 for entry-level candidates
- Salary increases based on experience and level of responsibility
- Merit-based bonus program weighted on a 1–5 scale
- Employees start at a level of 3, with bonus potential increasing or decreasing based on individual contributions
- Bonuses are not guaranteed and are based on company success
